OPEN STUDIOS Art Tour 11am – 5pm October 11-12 & 18-19, 2025

The Monterey County Arts Council’s annual Open Studios Art Tour is an opportunity to visit the studios of talented artists throughout Monterey County, providing an opportunity to meet and talk with artists, learn about their creative process, and maybe find a new collectable.
This year several members of our local Monterey Bay Woodworkers Club are participating in the tour, opening their workshop doors to the public, and providing an opportunity for you to visit, and learn more about arts and crafts woodworking.
The participating Monterey Bay Woodworkers are conveniently grouped on Linde Circle in Marina, in some of our member’s workshops. We hope to meet you on the tour!

Participating Monterey Bay Woodworkers Members:
Greg Swenson – Heirloom quality decorative wood boxes, and whimsical wood turned gnomes and Christmas decorations to accent the home.
Wood has such natural beauty, warmth, color, and textural characteristics that I find fascinating and inspiring. Using traditional and modern woodworking techniques, with an emphasis on craftsmanship, I create functional and decorative wooden art pieces to brighten the home and become a cherished part of someone’s life. Through my work, I hope to inspire a greater appreciation for the beauty and significance of responsibly sourced materials, and perhaps, inspire a few to take up this wonderful craft.

Don Jensen –
Creative work is all milled from local woods. Incorporation of metals, glass, stone, and other quality natural materials is common in my work. One of a kind, carving, cabinetry, and custom commissioned work is available.

Stasia Merritt – Wood and metal and stone, Oh My.
But I’m genetically predisposed to wood thanks to my father. I’ve been doing metal work (repoussé) and lapidary for the past 40 years. I also make wood, stone, and resin handles for Damascus steel knifes, and harmonized leather knife sheaths.
